More exhibition news this month! I have four photos up in The Bread Gallery in Brooklyn, Nova Scotia. This group exhibition features paintings by Mary Garoutte & Kelly Mitchelmore, photographs by yours truly & Jane Rovers, screen prints by Geordan Moore & Kat Frick Miller, folk art carvings by Jim Tracey, sculptures by Kristie Sheehy and fibre art by Tacha Reed & Blythe Church. The show was organized and curated by Tacha Reed as well. She runs the wonderful Flying Cloud Boutique in Ellershouse (just outside of Windsor, NS) and has rounded up some great work from the artists whose work she sells from this converted Airstream trailer.
The theme of the show is Staycation, all I ever wanted and so I thought it would be cool if I showed some photos from a staycation we took last year. We just rented a little cottage in Hortonville, Nova Scotia which is near beautiful Grand Pre in the Annapolis Valley. All four photos were taken within walking distance of our cottage and that fact alone is pretty cool when you see what was around!
So that's a taste of my Hortonville getaway - just an hour's drive from home! Here is a look at some of the work on display in this great little space in Brooklyn. Part bakery, part gallery, and the folks who run the place are fantastic! You really should stop by if you are in the Valley!
